YO! Just THIS In...from CNN.
BAGHDAD, Iraq (CNN) -- The leader of an umbrella organization for Iraqi insurgent groups is offering the United States a one-month truce to withdraw all U.S. forces from Iraq and turn over its military bases "to the mujahedeen of the Islamic state."
In an audiotape posted on Islamic Web sites Friday, a speaker identified as Abu Omar al-Baghdadi, the leader of the Mujahideen Shura Council, said that if U.S. forces begin withdrawing from Iraq immediately and leave their heavy weaponry behind, "we will allow your withdrawal to complete without anyone targeting you with any explosive or anything else."
"We say to Bush not to waste this historic opportunity that will guarantee you a safe withdrawal," al-Baghdadi said on the audiotape.
Orwellingly Yurz sez:
A couple of observations here: First, if this news item is really true, then we have ANOTHER perfect set-up being placed before the Bush Administration by the Islamic Bad Guys. I ask rhetorically: Is there anybody anywhere who might just think that Bush will NOT BRING 'EM ON some more, so to speak, with this insurgent's taunt? I don't know how clearer it could be how these mad-bombing, religious, nitwit zealots jerk Bush around like they've got him on a friggin' string!
And one more idea I toss out to you this evening: This isn't really a genuine news story, it's only an item leaked by the online goofballs at The Onion. Actually Baghdadi is a character in the play and the film by Tennessee Williams called, "Cat On A Hot Tin Roof." Folk singer and actor, Burl Ives did the role in the movie.
My gawd, do I ever need the Christmas break on which I'm about to slip into a vegetative state.
