And let's not forget phallic symbols. Those were(and perhaps still are somewhere) important religious objects for most of human history.
Just imagine the reaction of a 900 foot schlong going up! I'm sure Christians would claim that that's different but to me both are equally offensive but at least the phallus has a lot more to do with life than some guy nailed to some lumber.

I like the phallic statue! Definitely rather have that. If that cross is built, I swear, I'll go bomb it myself. Wouldn't take much to tip. Things like that get me fired up...this guy on the way to school was on the side of the road, smiling, with a huge sign that said, 'Jesus has a plan for you!' I felt this prompting from somewhere above to not steer away. Perhaps it was the other people yelling at me.

Slag bombing it. Too close to 9/11. Just go there and either T.P. it; or, even better, go there and start a cult that's really annoying that worships the statue itself and nothing else.
