Fundamentalist Christians. You know, "the bible is the literal word of god, the earth was created in 7 days, blah, blah". Usually will try to win arguments by the tactic known as "loud". Avoid them. Lisa

Fundies are USUALLY christians but not always. I've run into an arabic fundie, and a native american fundie. Both just as bad. The american native fundie was maybe the worse though "I don't trust any white man science". He believed that man came out of a shell that Raven cracked open and that the americas have ALWAYS been inhabited. These people won't let archaelogists do their jobs a lot of the time, simply because it's "white man science". "We know the truth, those are just white man lies. We didn't cross no landbridge, blah blah blah." All fundies start to sound the same after awhile, lol. NOTE not all american natives are like this, like christians most are okay, just a few crackpots. (and just for the record i have a tinnie tiny amount of indian blood in me)

I'm a fan of sports but not wrestling. I cant stand to watch people beat each other up and get paid for it.

Is anyone going to/have seen Mars lately?? Lisa is going to take me to this astronomy club to view it on 08 of June and was wondering if I should be prepared for anything.

Megan: be prepared for a wonderful sight. If you're lucky (no clouds, no light pollution, good equipment), you'll see a red-shaded disk and maybe some surface features (depending on the resolution of the equipment).
May not seem like much, until you realize that it's the most Earth-like planet we know of, even though it's approximately 35 million miles away.
I'm jealous...have a grand time!

Light pollution won't be a problem out here. South Dakota isn't that well-lit. The weather however. Right now it feels like winter is trying to make a comeback. I went to weather.com a while ago, and Friday is looking so-so. Won't know until later in the week. In April, I saw the weather prediction go from 30% chance of snow, to batten down the hatches we're getting a blizzard. This happened within less than 6 hours. If our Friday outing goes down the tubes, I'll probably e-mail one of the people in the Astronomy club and see if I can beg a viewing. Lisa

Lisa, I imagine your weather is probably as unpredictable as mine! Two days ago nearly 90, now in the sixties and raining, went an hour west across the great divide today, sunshine and 80. Go figure!
And your blizzard happened the same day ours did. Went hiking in am, 80, then barely beat the snow home!

well, I wish you would stop hogging the *good* weather and send it east
Here in the lovely Ohio River valley (sinus capital of the world), it's been 60s for the last 2 weeks, with rain pretty much daily

Ick! You can have the 90+ days! I'd rather see the snow or no more than 70. Just don't like getting caught on the mountains when it snows, I'd already pulled the winter gear out of the car to make room for the backpacks!

Colorado Weather Reports:
Well, there's a chance it might rain today, and if it does rain, there's a chance it might turn to snow, otherwise it'll be a nice day.

Speaking of weather: A couple of weeks ago, here in Minneapolis, we had rain every single day for a week. If I didn't have to work on the following Sunday, I'd have been out worshipping the sun. Rather take snow for a week than rain for a week.
