The History Channel has a debate forum set up for the question:
Do you support the inclusion of Intelligent Design theory in public school curricula?

I hope that some of you join in the debate so that the evolutionist voice is heard "LOUD and CLEAR".

This topic was the result of this recent news event:
quote:
The Ohio State Board of Education has convened a hearing to determine how issues surrounding the origin of life on earth will be taught in the state's public schools. Ohio's Board of Education has been under fire from science groups, because it's existing curriculum makes no specific reference to evolution, the theory of life's origins accepted by the scientific community. In response to this criticism, the Ohio Board of Education plans to include evolution in the curriculum, but has met with opposition from proponents of the Intelligent Design theory, which supports the concept of creation at the hand of a higher power. Supporters of Intelligent Design maintain that Ohio schools are obligated to include all theories of the origin of life in the curriculum.

I think that if they do start this program/course, then they should make it something for the kids to decide if they actually want to take the course.

Even so Megan, it shouldn't be taught as science, rather it should register as mythology.

There is no better demonstration of the folly of human conceits than this distant image of our world. It underscores our responsibility to deal more kindly with one another, to preserve and cherish the pale blue dot, the only home we've known. Sagan
