At delphinions Interlectual property archive they have a gallery of obscure patents.

I thought I should share this link with the rest of you for a laugh.

It includes a patent for a Pyramid machine that produces energy without fuel or moving parts.

Still does not beat the Australian inovation patent #2001100012 for acircular transportation facilitation device.(attention! this link leads to a PDF-file)

"Method of Exercising a Cat" made me realize

AARRGH! I'm a patent violator!

Oh wait- the patented invention uses a beam of INvisible light- I just tease Boris and Natasha with a plain ol' laser pointer. I guess I'm safe, then.

Where do you get cats who can see invisible light

I think he meant invisible beams of (laser-)light as opposed to the kind of visible beams of light shown on StarWars etc.

You're probably right about what the patent author meant, although "visible light" generally means the range of wavelengths which humans can percieve, as opposed to the infrared and ultraviolet ranges, which is what I took "invisible light" to mean.

Bummer. I guess I'll have to go home and tell Boris, Natasha, Moose and Squirrel that it's back to chasing a string.
