There should already be plenty of older stuff about Raël and his 'cloning project' in the archive.

I honestly don't understand why people are so upset about this. So he was using the media and the anti-cloning groups as a publicity stunt. I am a bit more troubled about the way the media and the politicans used him for their purposes.

About an obvious lunatic influencing important politcal decisions? What is the difference between him and all the other religious nuts who think that they should have some say in this.

And the idea that Raël could be scamming people who recently lost their loved ones with false promises about getting in contact with the departet? It is the same thing John Edwards does. At least Raël does not have a TV show yet.

Would people react as strongly if a christian leader, who belives in creationism and the imminent rapture, had testified that cloning humans was wrong because god told hims so?

I've been sort'a off & on following this dingbat for a couple of years, now. He's got almost as good a scam as Falwell, perhaps even better, what with all those Angels around.

I think that the clone project is yet another money-maker. I don't believe he'll ever do more than go through the motions, if that. More likely, he'll keep shifting his 'lab' around and scream peresuction. Further, I don't think he believes in extra-terrestial visitors any more than I do, which is not at all.

Great work if you can get it.

... peresuction....

This is the procedure they're planning to use on unsuccessful clones, isn't it?
