Not that there hasn't already been a lot of nonsense generated around 911, but this is just lunacy (Lol! pardon the pun). Guess I'll have to break out my official Seethrufarts magnifying glass to find out what's really going on.

Sad, but, unfortunately, not surprising.

Ah yes, our good friend Seethruart, aka 'he who shall not be named', aka..no I can't say it. But Hook, don't you know? Viewing pixels on a computer monitor with a magnifying glass is far superior to common sense or even a scant understanding of physics! All we need here is for Conspiracy Dave to chime in and tie this whole thing to the pyramids. My bad memories will be complete. Lisa

DON'T EVEN GO THERE
Sorry for yelling - but please don't.
Yeah, I think I'd like a little cheese to go with the whine.

quote: Can you explain how a Boeing 757-200, weighing nearly 100 tons and travelling at a minimum speed of 250 miles an hour* only damaged the outside of the Pentagon?
I don't know how human beings can be this evil. The only purpose of this, I suppose, is to demonstrate their resistance to logic, evidence, and human decency; a quality they share with every baboon, jackass, and fencepost. The plane did not just damage the outside of the Pentagon. It destroyed part of the outside ring, which by itself is equivalent to most office buildings in size, strength and mass. It didn't penetrate farther because the plane's 100 ton mass is primarily fuel, .032" aluminum sheet, and a few isolated components of greater strength and mass. The building, on the other hand, is made of bricks, concrete, and steel beams. Have they ever seen what happens when a Renault 5 hits a bridge abutment at 120km? Given their probable associations, they are likely to have seen this more than once. I really hate these bastards. Speaking of the demoniac liar who is not usually named, I saw something earlier on 60 Minutes that may be relevant. They interviewed John Nash, the mathematician whose life story is the basis for the Oscar nominated movie, A Beautiful Mind. Dr. Nash of course, suffered from schizophenia. In response to a question about what it was like, he said something like, "You don't think of it[voices, delusions, etc.] as a delusion, you think of it as some sort of super-normal state of awareness, some kind of higher knowledge that others are not able to see." Who else does this sound like?

I thought the Pentagon was made of steel reinforced concrete. (tensile strength surpassing that of any one component.) This bad boy was supposed to survive some major damage. My response to these clowns would have to be, "the plane didn't penetrate the inner rings, well, duh!"

It's also my understanding that that portion of the Pentagon had also undergone some retro-fitting post OKC.

Trish, you're right. That side of the building had been renovated quite recently, and part of that renovation was hardening it against truck bombs.
It's my understanding that the outer wall of that section had been reinforced with Kevlar sheeting (the bullet-proof vest material). This may have been disinformation, but I think it's a reasonable possibility.

Conspiracy buffs are truly like the Energizer Bunny- they just keep going.
So far we've had the "the planes were taken over by remote control", "the towers didn't collapse because of the fires and impact damage, they were demolished by hidden explosives", and most recently the "the Pentagon wasn't hit by a plane" stories.
Now that that last one is starting to fade, the newest trend I've seen is contending that the fact that the lists of hijackers and victims on the planes were actually revised as the investigation progressed is proof of some sort of gummint conspiracy.
Pointing out that after two major official inquiries and 90 years of historical research no definitive list or count exists of the survivors of the most investigated transportation disaster of the twentieth century, the Titanic, in spite of their all having been together on board the Carpathia for several days, or suggesting that having to backtrack is something that happens when you publish before you've double-checked your data (viz cold fusion), just serves as flamebait for the TBs.

I find this all to be very, VERY discouraging. I think I need to go and let my cats renew my confidence in my way of thinking, by insisting on examining the evidence in support of my contention that those funny round metal things contain food.
