Hey I have recently started a Yahoo Group called Fantasy Art Lovers. If anybody is interested in that please check it out. I feel lonely with just three members. Let me know what you think.

@tomic, is there anyway to insert a graphic without linking to it from outside? Would like to put a piece of my artwork up - think it fits here. But would like to protect it as well.
Is this possible?

If you sent me an image i could upload it and it could be included in a post but I can't think of any way to protect it. Once it's on the web it's pretty much available to anyone.

I'll just make it a really baaad copy, like compress it 3 or 4 times. You don't need my 600 dpi original anyway - too big.

Right. 72 dpi is all a computer monitor can show anyway. All my web images are 72 dpi.

So it can be done, unless that's not what you are talking about.

I can get around that in about 5 seconds but that's because I type so slowly
I can get around that in about 5 seconds but that's because I type so slowly @tomic
@, Just because the quote thingie is messed up on here, doesn't mean you can not use them like all the rest of us have to. What do you mean, 'get around that', you mean the copywrite thing that won't let you print? Are you being funny, or is there really a way to be able to copy off a web site when that disable thing is on it? Hum! Maybe @ you are smarter than I think! Heh, he.
ps. I joined that art group on Yahoo. Would you like me to post a message on my group, FreeSpeechforFreethinkers@yahoogroups.com, to let more people know about it?

Stopped by to check out your site-- I used my Yahoo name, Haken_berg.
Trish, The trick that protects artwork on the web is, as far as I know, javascript (there are probably other ways to do it, so it is defeatable, but will work for your average surfer. Many artists seem to simply opt for hoping that folks would rather have a quality reproduction and will pay for it since all one really has to do is make a screen dump and pull it up in Paint Shop Pro or some such. You can also, if you know how to do this with a graphics editor, watermark a copyright in the graphic.

I don't still have access to my Adobe account that would watermark the file, so even if it were copied the watermark would render the file unusable. That takes a bit more to crack I think.
Anyway, we'll give this a try.
Not working right now, @tomic will fix, I hope.

Well, just sent a new copy to @tomic, hopefully it will work. Looks fine in PhotoShop, I don't know what the problem is.

Beautiful.
And you planning on hiding this talent of yours from us how long?
