Hey folks--

A little of my own horn tooting here: my book, "Bad Astronomy", was just released by Wiley and Sons. I'll have a web page up about it shortly, but I'll say here it has a lot of skeptical stuff in it, including debunkings of astrology, creationism, UFOs, and the usual astronomy stuff I like to talk about. It is available already on Amazon's and Barnes&Noble's websites, and should be in bookstores soon too.

Enjoy! If you have any comments about it, good or bad, feel free to let me know.

Toot away, BA! Mine's on order and I'm anxiously awaiting its arrival. Considering where I live, it'll probably be delivered by pony express, and I've never really gotten a grasp on this thing called "patience".

I've had my copy for a couple days now, and as the BA can tell you, I've already found a few "oopsies" that slipped past the proofreaders. I think he may be mad at me

Maybe he'll "punish" me by making me a proofreader on his next book...

I'll also volunteer to proofread. Try to make this for the same time frame as my next vacation.
I really wanted that book to come out in January. Before we left, I headed to the bookstore for some new reads, but I really wished I could have had "Bad Astronomy". Now that blizzard season is here, I really wish Borders would hurry up with that delivery.

It is a wonderful book. Mine finally came. I am going to take it with me to physics lectures which I attend, to my skeptics group, to my astronomy group, to my astronomy group's open houses to show to our guests. It is a great book.

My goodness, did you see the glowing review by James Randi in the current Skeptic magazine?
Did ya tape a few twenties to the cover of the review copy or something?
I guess I wont wait till it goes on remainder to buy it after all.

More like fifties.

Actually, Randi was really nice in his review. There are other reviews too, on the back cover of the book, which were really nice.

Now, I just need to correct the errors in the book in the second printing...

I've been wanting to add some books to the Skeptic Resources section here. This book would be a good one to start with.
