Why, hello my dear skeptic friends - how's life going?
It's been awhile since I last posted here (I don't even know how long) and I haven't checked for even longer. There isn't really a reason why; I just drifted off, I suppose. But since I miss you guys (and girls!), might as well say that I'm alive and (maybe?) back.
This message has no point, really. Just a big hello for the folks out there

Good to see that you are still around!

Welcome back! |
Look again at that dot. That's here. That's home. That's us. On it everyone you love, everyone you know, everyone you ever heard of, every human being who ever was, lived out their lives. The aggregate of our joy and suffering, thousands of confident religions, ideologies, and economic doctrines, every hunter and forager, every hero and coward, every creator and destroyer of civilization, every king and peasant, every young couple in love, every mother and father, hopeful child, inventor and explorer, every teacher of morals, every corrupt politician, every "superstar," every "supreme leader," every saint and sinner in the history of our species lived there – on a mote of dust suspended in a sunbeam. Thanks for welcome back, people.
School's done - I am now officially a computer scientist (hah) and software developer (double hah at that). Work's done too, as without college, I lost the right for the internship. But I am studying and vying for a government position here in Brazil. The system here is a bit (ok, not a bit, vastly) different and involves taking an exam on several subjects, including but not limited to law and administration. Ugh.
The pay's good, though, so it's worth it.
What can I say, my life's boring. And to commemorate my return to SFN, I've discovered I've been censored in my first forays into a radical feminist blog. Yay. |

So you return to us out of boredom, then? Ah well, better that than than not to return at all. Hey, we missed you and are delighted to see you back! You always tend to give the place a little class.
Best of luck with all those exams. They sound tough but I've no doubt that you'll do well at them.

Hey Sib, perhaps you're psychic? We were just talking about you, I think it was in last Sunday's chat, as missing in action. And then, here you are.
Coincidence? (Insert spooky music here.)
Great to see you back!!!

Wow! As all of those above already pointed out, we missed you quite a bit, and were a little worried. Good to see you're back and badder than ever!
Best of luck (as if you'll need it) with the exams and potential job....

Wheee! Siberia, honey I've missed you!
Your absence here really had me worried!
It's been awhile since I last posted here (I don't even know how long) and I haven't checked for even longer. | I'd say almost, if not even more than 10 months...

Oh, but it meant so much for many of us.

Perhaps in part, my dear Fil, perhaps in part. There is only so much law one can take at a time - mindnumbingly boring stuff, learning the ways of bureaucracy. Ugh.
Best of luck with all those exams. They sound tough but I've no doubt that you'll do well at them. |
The greatest problem is the overwhelming amount of equally desperate competition - the pay is well above the average; hence my sudden disappearance into the world of compulsive studying. There are other benefits, as well, so people want it. A lot.
In the last one I did, I didn't get the spot due to being one measly point behind the first place. There could be only one. Sigh.
The other part of the reason is that I really missed you people. |

I'll welcome you back, too, Sib. As Kil said, we were all worried and clearly we're all happy that things are OK. Please make sure to stop by more frequently!! |

Siberia.....
According to you and Dr. Mabuse....Sib It's been awhile since I last posted here (I don't even know how long) and I haven't checked for even longer.Mab I'd say almost, if not even more than 10 months... |
| That would be just about the time I joined this hoary crew, and judging from the enthusiastic welcome you have received, I have been missing a good deal of spirited commentary!
Welcome, and where have you been, ... Siberia? Hope to engage you in agreement and dissension in about equal measure on all of the pressing issues facing mankind and others here on SFN! |
