Must kill Danio over at Pharyngula for providing a link to this frustrating game.

I always thought I was pretty good at geography. I haven't made it past level 10 (personal best: 394,472 points).

...Ya know, once you've misread "Serbia" as "Siberia," you pretty much know you're hosed.

Bleh... didn't make it past level 6. My geography knowledge is terrible!

Cool game. I hate African countries, there's just too many of them I don't know!

I got to level 10 also.
Too bad English and Swedish names of locations are not the same. I'd do better if game was in Swedish.

Shoot. Missed level 10 by 2,500 points. Ended up with 315,824 on level 9. The biggest problem for me was India, where I'd keep picking south and they'd all be north, and I'd be off by 4,000 km...

Got level 10 once - but since I get these towns in Africa which I've never heard of...

Anyone ever nail a location dead on? I managed to be off by only 33 km for Stonehenge, once.

Edited to say: just missed Boston by 22 km.

Closest I came was San Francisco. I don't recall the km's though. And I am still trying to get past level 6, though I have only played a couple of times.

I got within 50 of Tehran and 60 of Lebanon. What's frustrating is that on a number of them, I could get them dead on if the map were a little larger. As it is, for the places that I know (and not just guessing), I usually only get within 120 km or so, but rarely better than that...

I just nabbed an off-by-6km for MoMA.

And someone over on Pharyngula is changing his screen resolution to 640x480 to better see the map. That's hard-core.

Agreed Cune. I was 23km from Baghdad.

Why continue? Because we must. Because we have the call. Because it is nobler to fight for rationality without winning than to give up in the face of continued defeats. Because whatever true progress humanity makes is through the rationality of the occasional individual and because any one individual we may win for the cause may do more for humanity than a hundred thousand who hug their superstitions to their breast.

One lucky click for 5km from Old Faithful.

Usually the closest I can get is 100-200, and thats when I actually know what I'm looking for.

Damn. I, too, am stuck on level 10. In 4 tries, my high is 390,691. Obviously the more you play, the better you get since a number of cities and places recycle. I don't know how many are given for each level, but it seems like I get a few of 'em each time.
