She comes up with this.
It's a Youtube clip of one turkey pardoning another turkey whilst the rest of the turkeys are being happily slaugthered in the background.
I rarely open these video clips because it takes my machine so long to load them, but when I found this little jewel, I had to see it for myself. I mean, the woman's in national politics and she is so short-sighted as to hold a press interview at a working and busy, outdoor abattoir?
Ye gods, did we ever dodge a bullet in the presidential election of '08! This chick gives a whole, new definition to the evidently cherished title of "Imbecile."
While it's fun watching the squeamish dash off to a quiet place to snap their lunches, it is not recommended for politicians to cause the event on air. It tends to come back on them in the elections -- the squeamish vote too, don'tcha know.
Ah Sarah; if the Republicans don't run you for prez in '12, I'm gonna very disappointed.

It's been all over the news. I must say, the method they use on that turkey farm is rather primitive. Killing cones for poultry are widely used. But one turkey at a time? Must be a family business.
I really loved how the man doing the slaughtering took every chance he got to mug for the camera. Nice touch.
Anyhow, good job Sarah.
But lets not forget that she did pardon one turkey.
That's the turkey I wanted on my table. |

| Yeh, and it was Rude, too! So there she was, the Future of the Republican Party, standing there yesterday like the spank-worthy centerfold of the LL Bean Christmas catalog, at a turkey farm, having just pardoned a fair fowl from becoming a crispy-skinned main course, as is the Chief Executive of a state's wont. And then she talked to the press. In front of a trough of blood and guts. While a farm worker was killing turkeys.
The Rude Pundit loves that worker - let's name him "Johnny Moustache" - for constantly looking at Palin and over to the side, where, one may assume, someone's telling him he needs to get to work, that the turkeys won't slaughter themselves. The Rude Pundit loves Johnny because the expression on his face says, "Are you really that fucking stupid? Are you really our fucking governor? Were you really almost the fucking vice president? Well, fuck me." | Actually, this is the first time I've heard of a mere governer 'pardoning' Thanksgiving turkeys. Up until now, I'd thought, when I thought about such nonsense at all, that it was the perogative of presidents. Do governers commonly pardon turkeys? Or is this one just unofficialy trying part of the higher office on for size? Yeesh!

How can you pardon a turkey? It's not like the turkey has committed any crimes to be pardoned fo, is it?
And, how do these guys choose what turkey to save? Who determine which one, among all the State's many turkeys is the most deserving to live? Is there a committee examining the turkey's life and achievement? What are they criterion? Has anybody ever reported any racial bias against darker turkeys that would make them more likely to be executed?
And, what happen to the pardoned turkey? Is it hold at the farm until the next holiday season or does it get to live ever after in a turkey rehabilitation centre? Does Alaska have a turkey protection program destined to forge a new identity for the turkey: 'You are a chicken now' 'Aaaaw, man'.
How does the turkey deal with the knowledge that it has been pardoned while all its family and acquaintance are now dead? Do turkey ever experience survivor guilt? Is there a governmental program to help turkeys deal with these feeling?
This tradition fuckin' confuses me! |

Over three minutes of video the view of two turkeys being killed is superseded by the horror of Palin's annoying voice and verbiage.

| You got that right! If anything could mute the sound on my toob by a sort of distantly-remote telekinesis, it's her.
But Bush has been doing the same thing for years -- the difference is that Palin looks better in a bikini (I assume. To the best of my knowledge, Bush has kept his bikini fetish in the closet. May it remain there ).

I don't know. I have read several people that considered that Bush's religious nuttiness was mostly a show to appeal to the religious right and that, when the mikes were of, they mostly despise the RR. Palin on the other hand, almost definitively, is one of them.
I am not sure which one is the worst, the sincere religious nuts or the lying scumbag that appeal to the religious nut, but I am quite sure about which one is the most dangerous in any position of power. |

| I'm still undecided as to whether Dubya is a "real" fundy, though I lean to the theory that he's faking it. History, I believe, will eventually discover evidence, one way or the other. (Just wait for Karl Rove's tell-all autobiography!)
However, for all practical purposes, the difference between someone who merely pretends to be obeying the commands of an invisible sky spirit, and someone who actually thinks they are doing so are entirely moot to everyone in the universe outside that person's head. There, actions are all that matters.

I am not sure Mooner, when time comes to press this pesky little button on the magical football, the faker will hesitate like us, the 'real' fundie, that really thinks that he is doing God will and that it is all following a Godly plan will be much more ready to press the button.
If you were to play a game of chronal switch-a-roo and put Palin in JFK's shoes during the Cuban missile crisis, you'd probably end up with a bad case of NPR (Nuclear Powered Rapture). |

I believe it is decided by amount of money the turkeys have donated to the candidates re-election fund.
