So; I was looking at charities near me and found the local chapter of the Daughters of Isis. It seems to be an off-shot of the Ancient Egyptian Arabic Order of Nobles of Mystic Shrine which is not telling me all that much.
It certainly reeks of woo and, after a tiny bit of snooping around, it seems that it might be some sort of Nuwaubianism movement. A bit like Black Muslims but with an extra-spoonful of crazy...
So, now I am curious and am trying to look into it deeper, but they do not seem very well known over the intertubes... Any of you guys ever heard about them?

Look again at that dot. That's here. That's home. That's us. On it everyone you love, everyone you know, everyone you ever heard of, every human being who ever was, lived out their lives. The aggregate of our joy and suffering, thousands of confident religions, ideologies, and economic doctrines, every hunter and forager, every hero and coward, every creator and destroyer of civilization, every king and peasant, every young couple in love, every mother and father, hopeful child, inventor and explorer, every teacher of morals, every corrupt politician, every "superstar," every "supreme leader," every saint and sinner in the history of our species lived there – on a mote of dust suspended in a sunbeam. Never heard of 'em. But there are a lot of cults & ripoffs that I'm not familiar with.
And it's all woo; there's scarcely even a matter of degree.
