Wow... That's even better than your time travelling Wing Nuts Daily!
Mind if I forward it to the people in my atheist group? |
Look again at that dot. That's here. That's home. That's us. On it everyone you love, everyone you know, everyone you ever heard of, every human being who ever was, lived out their lives. The aggregate of our joy and suffering, thousands of confident religions, ideologies, and economic doctrines, every hunter and forager, every hero and coward, every creator and destroyer of civilization, every king and peasant, every young couple in love, every mother and father, hopeful child, inventor and explorer, every teacher of morals, every corrupt politician, every "superstar," every "supreme leader," every saint and sinner in the history of our species lived there – on a mote of dust suspended in a sunbeam. Carl Sagan - 1996 |

I'm sure by now that everyone is aware the Betty Page died. The only reason for posting it here are a couple of sentences describing a period in her life. Perhaps if Godoft by Pferd had been available.
Page mysteriously disappeared from the public eye for decades, during which time she battled mental illness and became a born-again Christian.

Regardless, she was a very attractive woman. |

| The sad news of Ms. Page's death may have indirectly been what inspired my OP. I'd researched a bit, and found that she's had some serious issues with schizophrenia. I hadn't caught the part about Bettie having tried religion, but I recall briefly thinking about anti-psychotics, and later wondering if drugs might someday be used to treat religion.
Bettie was indeed gorgeous, but she had something else that's hard to duplicate: A sense of fun that transferred to her photographs.
