Nothing will cheer Florida drivers like seeing a horrible, bled-out corpse on the plate of the car in front of them.

Yeh, delightful, ain't it? And what better way to advertise your glorious state than to show the noxious thing all over the country.

Of course, the ACLU, among others, will likely put paid to the idea, as they have done often enough before, thereby proving that fundie Christians are, for the most part, too bone-headed to learn from experience. I suppose the same can be said of fundie Muslims as well, although their fantasy, mercifully, doesn't allow for images of Ol' Moe.

Just had a thought -- dangerous business, that -- FL has quite a large and influential Jewish population. I wonder what their opinion of the matter might be.

They are fighting back with this, of course.

Isn't it some kind of vanity tags?

Basically, if enough people ask for them, they will produce them and charge a bit more. Down here, we have a few such tags, including a pro-life one.

I don't see it as a breach of the first amendment, considering that anybody can have such a tag produced, including atheists...

Look again at that dot. That's here. That's home. That's us. On it everyone you love, everyone you know, everyone you ever heard of, every human being who ever was, lived out their lives. The aggregate of our joy and suffering, thousands of confident religions, ideologies, and economic doctrines, every hunter and forager, every hero and coward, every creator and destroyer of civilization, every king and peasant, every young couple in love, every mother and father, hopeful child, inventor and explorer, every teacher of morals, every corrupt politician, every "superstar," every "supreme leader," every saint and sinner in the history of our species lived there – on a mote of dust suspended in a sunbeam.

Something tells me HalfMooner might soon have some alternative sample Florida plates backstage.

Diversity, independence, innovation and imagination are progressive concepts ultimately alien to the conservative mind.

I don't think these can be considered vanity plates. After all, vanity plates are personlized by their owner and the Jebus plates will be mass produced by the state, what ever the text/numbers on them.

We'll see....

Hey...nothing says love like a license plate with a dead rotting corpse under a hot sunshiny sun.

UGH (dead Jesus) P-U

Yeah, talk about your graven images!

Speaking of zombie-on-a-stick graven images...friend of mine pointed out how to leave a xtian perplexed while noting their ubiquitous cross on a neck chain -- ask them, "Instead of crucifixion, what if they had hung christ from a rope?"

Not vanity license tag but limited edition ones.

I know Mississippi offers some such tags, maybe California does not.
