My younger daughter sent me this splended bit of doggerl.
Mildred, the church gossip, and self-appointed
Monitor of the church's morals, kept sticking
Her nose into other people's business….
Several members did not approve of her
Extra curricular activities , but feared her
Enough to maintain their silence…
She made a mistake, however, when she
Accused Frank, a new member, of being an
Alcoholic after she saw his old pickup
Parked in front of the town's
Only bar one after noon. .
She emphatically told Frank
(and several others)
That every one seeing it there
WOULD KNOW WHAT HE WAS DOING!
Frank, a man of few words,
Stared at her for a moment and
Just turned and walked away…
He didn't explain, defend, or deny…
He said nothing….
Later that evening,
Frank quietly parked his pickup
In front of Mildred's house ...
Walked home
... . .and left it there all night!!!

That's funny and reminds me of the little ol lady across the street. My wife was home one day using up some vacation when sweet Mrs. Walker comes out and asks her if she got fired from her job? Why else would she be home in the middle of the week in the middle of the afternoon? When Mandy told me about this I about spit my drink up in laughter.
The other night I was over at a buddies late helping him wrench on his car and did not get home until almost midnight. As I pull in the driveway I see Mrs. Walker looking out the window as I pull up. I am sure the word on the street will be that I was coming home from my affair.
God bless little old ladies with to much time on their hands.

| God bless little old ladies with to much time on their hands. |
You bet! They make life interesting, don't they? Not quite as interesting as they made it when they were younger ladies with little time on their hands perhaps, but bless 'em anyway.

Mrs. Walker quickly wins back my heart and forgivness when she brings us over her home made cookies from time to time. |
