A friend of my father once told me when I was very young "If I said to you the world was created and controlled by an invisible, all powerful superbeing who knows everything and listens in to everyone's thoughts, so give me money, you'd laugh at me, but the church does that every Sunday." It had quite an effect on me.

My father was not so eloquent. My mother had sent me to a Christian school when I was a wee lad and apparently I divulged sinful vices of my father.

So one day a preacher arrived at the door of our house, and my father answered.

The preacher calmly accused that, "I hear the you might partake of alcohol and the occasional swear word."

My dad looked at him for a moment, shouted "Damn right!", and slammed the door on his face.

I was soon transfered to yet another Christian kindergarten school, on of many.
