This is the tip of a peninsula that is sinking into the ocean. The tectonic plate is is part of is being pushed northward and under another plate.

1. What is the name of the peninsula?

2. What are the names of the two tectonic plates?

3. Of what country is the peninsula a part?

The Musandum Peninsula also is extremely strategic in geopolitical and military terms, as it forms the southern side (the northern side is Iran) of the narrow Straight of Hormuz, through which most of the Arabian Gulf's oil is shipped.
