Austrian govt finds mass graves of Nazi victims

VIENNA — At least two mass graves containing dozens of people killed by the Nazis have been found on property used by the Austrian army, government officials said Friday. An army statement suggested some of the remains may be that of U.S. pilots shot down and imprisoned during World War II.
Police Col. Rudolf Gollia, an interior ministry spokesman, said his ministry plans talks with the owners of the site to discuss exhumation, adding it was not yet clear whether the army owned the property or was renting it.
The mass graves are located in bomb craters underneath an army sports field in the southern city of Graz. Officials said they contain about 70 bodies of victims killed by the SS to eliminate witnesses to Nazi atrocities shortly before Soviet troops arrived.
The graves were identified from wartime photos, made from U.S. bombers, showing open graves and bodies. U.S. authorities made the imagery available on request of Austrian historians tasked two years ago by Defense Minister Norbert Darabos with researching documented war crimes at the site, used by the SS during World War II.
A statement available Friday on the Austrian army web site said up to 219 people were massacred at the location during the dying days of World War II in an attempt to hush up atrocities committed there.

And since you cited Judge Lukaszkiewicz' observations with approval, you ought to accept that he found evidence exceeding the challenge requirements, it just wasn't in "a grave." If the evidence not being in "a grave" keeps Judge Lukaszkiewicz out of contention, then the contest is clearly rigged to make it impossible for anyone to win, and nothing but long-standing bloviation.
Or, as you implied, Judge Lukaszkiewicz was a "PATHOLOGICAL LIAR," so then the quote you posted, "During the work on the terrain, I found no mass graves," must be considered to be a lie, and you, Dan, are guilty of spreading it.

Speaking of mass graves, here's an interesting one.
Fifty-one decapitated skeletons found in a burial pit in Dorset were those of Scandinavian Vikings, scientists say.
Mystery has surrounded the identity of the group since they were discovered at Ridgeway Hill, near Weymouth, in June.
Analysis of teeth from 10 of the men revealed they had grown up in countries with a colder climate than Britain's.
Archaeologists from Oxford believe the men were probably executed by local Anglo Saxons in front of an audience sometime between AD 910 and AD 1030.
The Anglo Saxons were increasingly falling victim to Viking raids and eventually the country was ruled by a Danish king.
The mass grave is one of the largest examples of executed foreigners buried in one spot.

The last sentence may not entirely accurate. The Nazis murdered a lot of Russian POWs at their various facilities, and there were a tremendous number of camps and sub-camps scattered throughout Europe.
Concentration Camp Listing
The camps are classified by countries, based on the 1939-1945 borders. When known, the name of each sub-camp or external kommando is followed by the name of the company which used inmates as slave. A star means that the inmates of the camp were women.
This list is far from complete. It is estimated that the Nazis established 15,000 camps in the occupied countries. There were several small camps which were created for limited in time operations against local population. Most of these camps were destroyed by the Nazis themselves, sometimes after two or three months of activity. This list does not contain the names of the ghettos created by the Nazis, even if several ghettos (i.e. Theresienstadt ghetto) had their own external kommandos (work team).
This list is based on information found in two books:
- The first one is "Le livre des Camps" by Ludo Van Eck, published in 1979, editions Kritak (Belgium. As far as I know, this book has never been published again or translated in English but it is still possible to purchase it at the museum of Breendonck, Belgium),
- The second one is the excellent Atlas Of The Holocaust by Martin Gilbert.
