Wow...that Arrow II guy is a bigger asshole than I thought!

Edit:
Well, Arrowhead screwed up again. From my reply, which is still waiting moderation has been posted, to him:

And the witches thing, well… that was a Protestant thing.
Baloney. It was both!

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Witch-hunt#Causes_and_sociology_of_witch-hunts

Of the 480 trials that took place in southwestern Germany, 317 occurred in Catholic areas, while Protestant territories accounted for 163 of them.[39] During the period from 1561 to 1670, at least 3,229 persons were executed for witchcraft in the German Southwest. Of this number 702 were tried and executed in Protestant territories, while 2,527 were tried and executed in Catholic territories.[40]

As to your claim:
At least, pagan, in Christianity, WE OWN our sins.

Bull. If that was the case, then your current pope would have told the church to cooperate with the legal authorities in those international cases of child abuse in the church, instead of telling the church to cover them up!

What brought that on? this. Original posting here.

Another example of this guy's lunacy here.

Christians don't own their sins, they have them forgiven by invisible gods and/or priests instead of by the actual victims of their misdeeds.

Catholicism especially. They don't need to apologize to the parents they've dishonored, or the people they've stolen from or lied to. They just say some magical words as a "penance" and the guilt drops away. Meeting someone face-to-face and making a sincere apology is sometimes difficult, and so is actually forgiving someone who has done you wrong, but in the end such activities make a community stronger, and confession seeks to do an end-run around that hard but necessary work. Even in light of all the church picnics and other get-togethers, confession is a decidedly anti-social behavior.
