This is Hard to Explain.
I bet Goldman Sachs hiring of Greg Craig just another part of the game. I bet when this is all said and done Goldman Sachs will benefit from the new government regulations.

This is hard to explain too.
What Happened When A Top GOP Senator Met With Wall Street?
This was a much longer post. But for some reason the quote I took from the site wouldn't load. In any case, it looks like the Republicans are trying to secure funding for the upcoming elections from the Wall Streeters by killing or damaging a bill that is supposedly (according to the Republicans) good for Wall Street.

| So your defense of the President lying to us for his own gain is to show that republicans are trying to get campaign funds from wall street?
Will President Obama return this? |

What lie?
And no, I don't give any credibility to any news outlet owned by Rupert Murdoch's News Corporation. Please...
And hey, should all of the Republicans in congress also give back their contributions from the same company? Should they also admit that they just went looking for funding from Wall Street? I dunno... Do you?

Basically, what Mudoch's New York Post is saying is that they are offended by, and jealous of, the quality of the Web campaign that Obama is waging against some of the abuses and abusers, the greedy gamblers who threw this nation and much of the world into a near-depression.
This kind of Web savvy was instrumental in getting Obama elected, and in getting Obamacare passed into law. Why shouldn't he employ his strengths to make Wall Street a bit less of a casino? Post this, Murdoch: The whining of a sore loser is not a winning strategy. |

| Web savvy is one thing, but it indicates that the White House new of the lawsuit before it was announced, something they have denied. They are using prosecution of companies for political gain. |

The SEC is not controlled by the White House. And so what if they are using it? They are trying to get new regulation laws passed. And this breach of ethics by Goldman Sachs is the kind of thing that must stop. You can call it political gain if you want to. I see nothing at all wrong with it.
And what part of the Murdoch article demonstrates that the White House knew of the SEC's move before it was announced? That you are so willing to believe the speculations of a couple of politicians, and turn those into facts, just shows your willingness to believe what fits your bias. |

Good point. If the tables were turned, I'm sure the Republicans would say; "Oh my, it helps to make our case, but do you think we should use it?"

| They don't have to had insider information on the SEC's pending decision. As the White House said, they'd seen plenty of evidence of Goldman-Sachs' misdeeds. Preparing a contingency plan to exploit the SEC's almost certain action against Goldman is simply good politics and fair play.
Assuming the White House unethically or illegally exploited inside information is completely unevidenced. Murdoch's legions lie. |
