Thankfully, not all Fred Phelps' children follow in their father's footsteps. There are, according to Wikipedia, four children estranged from Phelps. One of them is Nate Phelps, who speaks on his experience growing up in the Phelps family. Nate Phelps spoke at CFI Calgary about two months ago:

When you're a Phelps, there's little room for being neutral about Fred and his hate-spewing loyalists. If you don't entirely agree with them, it may be a good idea to put hundreds of miles and an international boarder between yourself and that mob.

Good for Nate, not only for being his own man, but for speaking out!
