Headdesk: a televangelist plans on opening a Christian church within one block of Ground Zero (Park51 is two blocks from it), and his opening sermon will be against what he calls a "victory mosque" (Park51, of course).

He is just using this as an opportunity to fleece his flock. The wingnuts are stirred up and more irrational than usual, they will probably send him a lot of cash.

Actually, the church will hold its services in its temporary location at the New York Marriott, located close to the World Trade Center (either one block, according to the linked article, or two blocks, according to Countdown's report).

Yeah, I read that before that the missiles and jet cockpits were being brought to childrens' hospitals. Because, you know, why entertain with clowns when you have a decommissioned missile or two?

Imam Feisal Abdul Rauf, who is spearheading the mosque's construction, has written an op-ed in the New York Times.
