Shouldn't we have hurricane name reform in this country? I feel for the people named Katrina or Rita. I suggest we name them after:

Current or past despots
Serial killers
70's Disco Bands
President Obama/Pelosi sponsered bills
Green Bay Packer players

Any more suggestions?

Henry Rollins thinks we should rename tornadoes to "the first four Black Sabbath albums." As in:
Newscaster: The first four Black Sabbath albums destroyed a small town in Oklahoma today.

Listener: Fuck yeah, they did!

Wall Street CEO's and flim-flam artists (Eisner, Madoff, Crook)
Shock Jocks and other trailer park emptying ilk (Mancow, Stern, Springer)
Chicago Cubs who were in the World Series as a Cub. (You'll have to search for the roster of 1908 and 1945)
New York Mets who have been arrested
Indicted Congressmen

Could backfire though.

"The first four Black Sabbath albums turned into a tropical depression in Miami today."

Why continue? Because we must. Because we have the call. Because it is nobler to fight for rationality without winning than to give up in the face of continued defeats. Because whatever true progress humanity makes is through the rationality of the occasional individual and because any one individual we may win for the cause may do more for humanity than a hundred thousand who hug their superstitions to their breast.

I'd like to have a hurricane. I know I'm not any of the above, but I'm trying. Yesterday I killed a mosquito, and I didn't even blink!

So can we please name a hurricane Tom? Hurricane Tom has a nice ring to it, I think.

All teabagger and GOP members of congress, present and past.
Hypocritical christian preachers.
Climate science deniers.
Evolution deniers.
Energy companies (oil, coal, etc).
Most congressional democrats.
Retards who think the US is a "christian nation".

I'm sure I can think of a few more!

Oh please no. Every street around here is named after them already. I've had enough.

I think that we should go back to naming them all after women, mainly famous and/or historic ones. Picture, if you might, a soggy-looking, wind-whipped idiot in a sou'wester bellowing into a microphone:

As you folks at home can see, Elizabeth Báthory is mercilessly pounding this coastal city......

Or:

(Nitwit-with-mic again): Massive flooding and thousands uprooted from their homes due to the fury of Toyko Rose.....

Or:

(Concerned-looking, diva behind a busy-looking weather desk): Hurricane Snooki is rapidly approaching the Jersey shore.....

And so forth.
