For just this once, I agree with Michell Bachman; the airport scanning procedures are obscene. However, viewing her, or anyone's clumsily scanned bod on the internet is not the sort of research I want to do.
Link Rep. Michele Bachmann (R-Minn.) recently announced her opposition to the federal Transportation Security Administration's full-body scanners due to worries that "naked pictures" of herself could somehow end up on the internet for the world to see after being screened.
According to MinnPost, Bachamann told patrons at an Iowa coffee shop that she planned on opting out of such security procedures in order to avoid the possibility that such exposing images could end up online.
Nor is groping Michele Bachmann a prettier picture. |
As one of the commenters noted, Bachmann doesn't have to go through the porn shoot or the grope. She is a member of Congress and is not required to do so, and can sashay on to her airplane unsullied.
On a personal level, I don't care. I don't fly and nobody wants to see me, anyway. But many others are not so lucky/stubborn, alas.

I travel 4 to 5 times a year for work (and a few more to vacations, etc.) and I haven't ever encountered any of this. I guess LAX doesn't have these special scanners, nor, it seems do the other airports I routinely travel through (BOS and ORD, mostly). Not like I'd care if I had to go through one of those scanners. Nor would I be interested in seeing some politician or other nominally famous person, either. I mean, those pasty-white images aren't particularly alluring. Especially when much more interesting streaming video is available for free all over the internet. |
