But it's still OK for adults to say things like,
Look in your agnostic underwear for your balls. |
right?

It's all about ridicule Fripp. The best weapon. Science, logic, reason and an inventor who supported placing the Bible in classrooms are not enough to discourage the fervent cultism of the God believing agnostic like you,Kil and our new friend Falconjudge. |

Kil, That was in reference to a joke told by a well-known comedian. Are you too thick to recognize humor? Next time I post a joke from a comedian I will add the disclaimer that this is a joke that some people might find humorous. You are obviously avoiding answering the claim agnosticism is self-refuting. Give it a try at least. |

Sure, ridicule can be pretty provocative, but don't you think it just kind of makes these castrati agnostics dig in their heels? Sadly, I'm not sufficiently endowed, in the cajones department, to make good use of it. That's why I get confused by statements that seem OK to me, but clearly fail the masculinity test for true atheists:
The opposite of the religious fanatic is not the fanatical atheist but the gentle cynic who cares not whether there is a god or not.

The best weapon is actually facts and patient open-minded debate, without insults.
Your argument tactics are actually weakening your position and are more-than-likely to hurt your argument.
Why are you choosing to pick fights with agnostics/atheists? We have a common goal of minimizing/eliminating the influence of religion. It's like Catholics picking fights with Episcopalians when they both view Atheism/agnosticism as the enemy. And in their mind, they see no difference between the two.
BTW, it's obvious that you consider "agnostic" as an insult and you feel that you are "landing blows" when you call me one, even though I have corrected you. If you want to continue, by all means, go for it. I don't even remotely consider it an insult. I don't get hung-up on labels and levels-within-labels. But FYI, you're just wasting keystrokes.
Although, this topic has 30 pages of nothing but wasted keystrokes from you. Whatever you're trying to accomplish, you've failed miserably. Something tells me that that is the story of your life. |

"What? Oh, oh, 'just rebuild it'? Oh, real [bleep]ing original. And who's gonna give me a loan, jackhole? You? You got an ATM on that torso LiteBrite?" |

The opposite of the religious fanatic is not the fanatical atheist but the gentle cynic who cares not whether there is a god or not. Eric Hoffer Hal, That is exactly what I'm talking about and I will just love calling them castrati agnostics. Thanks for this. Listen to them singing and hitting the real high notes. |

So... do you consider yourself the opposite of a religious fanatic?

Hal, Are you trolling me? I consider myself a militant atheist and that is the only rational position. The gentle cynic who cares not is the agnostic. Your cajones were apparently sufficient to result in progeny that you lied to about the supernatural. My children would not allow me to swear because an atheist doesn't believe in God. |

You have failed to provide an answer to the question I asked, your pathetic responses indicate that you don't even understand the question at all.
Your degree of willful ignorance and general stupidity put any creationist I have ever seen to shame. You trump them all, and there are some seriously fucking stupid creationists out there.
Your refusal to engage my question indicates that you are incapable of having an intelligent conversation on this topic. I'll address your moronic "agnosticism is self refuting" after you answer my question to you, not before.

Perhaps it hasn't occurred to you, because you are so incredibly ignorant and unschooled, that Azimov's famous quote about the bible was inspired by Huxley. I'll paraphrase- One of the best ways to convince a person that religion is nonsense is to have them read a bible.
If Huxley wanted bibles in classrooms it is only because no honest reading of that book, by anyone capable of reading, would convince them that any deity existed. It is so filled with contradictions, outright evil, and horrific acts that it is a tool for the promotion of atheism.
Also, how many times do you have to be told that the majority of members here who call themselves agnostic do not hold any god beliefs? You clearly fail to understand Sagan's idea of agnosticism and the fact that agnostics are (by definition) atheists. You are just hoping to antagonize people by repeating that little lie of yours. Do yourself a favor, just delete your account here. You are on the path to being kicked out anyway.

You are a religious fanatic. You are every bit as stupid and dangerous as people who believe they are going to get rewarded in the afterlife if they die a martyr. Because you share the trait common to religious fanatics of all beliefs, the inability to even imagine you may be wrong.
