Officiant: Dear Kil, Clearly you are unable or unwilling to apply your limited mental resources to seriously address the claim that agnosticism is self-refuting. |
I'll alert all scientists for you that empiricism (which is what agnosticism is about) is self-refuting. I'm sure it will come as some relief to them, just as it has been for you, to not have to be encumbered by facts. Then, like you, we can all just make shit up. We can all be religious. Like you are.

Doesn't say much for your sense of humor. Given your debate skills and the intellect you've displayed thus far, can't say I'm surprised.
...I laughed out loud because it's very funny {emphasis mine-Fripp}. |
Thanks for that added qualifier. Until your brilliant clarification, I wasn't sure that "very funny" was a direct cause for one to "laugh out loud".
You did not not find it funny. |
I find Colbert very funny. This quote quite a bit less so. But it appears that you are easily amused by simplistic humor; much like you are easily impressed with simplistic arguments. But using this quote to support your argument I find feeble at best.
I'll bet you dropped your agnostic trousers and immediately took inventory. Did you find any? Never mind. | How sophisticated. This ad hominem attack on one's manhood as measured by imaginary penis-size speaks volumes about you and insults me not in the least.
When you finally grow a pair you can become a real Atheist.

The No True Scotsman fallacy. For a "true atheist", your logical debate skills aren't even lacking; they are non-existent.
And again, no support for any of your claims. Are you sutre you're not a Jesus-freak? |

Hey, I'm an Agnostic. You know why?
Because I've known, all my life, that a loving God is up there taking care of us. Now that I can't be a Christian anymore (truth and proof vs rhetoric, can't I still just believe that part? Do you know how horrible it is to imagine having arms around you your entire life, and then just suddenly have them not just gone, but find out that they were never there in the first place?
Once a person wakes up from the dream of Biblical infallibility, what's next? Can you really just expect us to accept that no, no loving power is keeping us safe, that we're really alone, save for the rest of evil humanity? Agnosticism leaves the door open, at least. A little, probably vain, hope that maybe, maybe we're wrong, and there is someone out there. And, at least, it has no specific superstition of its own! At least, that's how I feel.
Come on, give us this one. |

Bingo!
The debate, if there ever was one, ended on page two. On the upside, it is fascinating to watch a guy hang himself with his own rope. I'm still waiting for him to introduce 5 logical fallacies in one post. I wonder if Guinness has a category for the most logical fallacies in the fewest words possible? At this point, we have one post with four in one short paragraph. Impressive by any standard! |

Dear Valiant Dancer, Argumentum ad verecundiam or appeal to authority, when correctly applied, can be a valid and sometimes essential part of an argument that requests judgement or input from a qualified or expert source. rationalwiki.org/wiki/Argumentum_ad_verecundiam Richard Dawkins, Madalyn O'Hair,Victor Stenger,Charles Bradlaugh,Albert Ellis,Sam Harris and Stephan Hawking are all qualified and expert sources.
It is your postings that are childish garbage arguments. Your agnostic hero Huxley is so stupid he supported using the Bible in schools. Where are your expert sources? Back to your pond little ducky.

Dear Fripp, I was not referring to your tiny penis. Look in your agnostic underwear for your balls. They are missing along with your ability to follow the thread of a conversation. |

I'm so stupid I told my kids that Santa Claus was real, and kept teasing them about it long after they started to push back. It was all fun and laughs, because we didn't know how stupid we were.

Dear Falconjudge, Like all the agnostics on this website you are still a believer in God and you have many friends here who share your belief system. Isn't that right Kil? |

| Yes. You and Falconjudge both believe that there might be higher authorities. Your belief seems to be stronger than our new friend. |

And how does that relate to your Colbert quote? Typical that you cherry pick that one.
Richard Dawkins, Madalyn O'Hair,Victor Stenger,Charles Bradlaugh,Albert Ellis,Sam Harris and Stephan Hawking are all qualified and expert sources. |
Not when taken out of context, they don't.

Who says that Huxley is my hero? You? You get that out of my head through mind reading or did you use Tarot, oh Pope of Atheists(tm)?
Not even an entertianing try, Sparky.

Falconjudge,
You are arguing with a Westboro Baptist type of Atheist.
He is impervious to logic and must follow his dogmatic approach to atheism in spite of evidence provided to him. |

Ahhhh, more insults. The sure sign one knows the argument is lost.
What exactly were you trying to accomplish with this topic of yours? |

Dear Kil, You are not eight years old. Adults do not say "who cares" or "I'll alert all scientists" as a way to avoid answering a direct serious question. Please seriously address the aforementioned claim that agnosticism is self-refuting. Give your best metaphysical shot. And Dude. I would like to see your answer on self-refutation as well. I notice you stopped asking your inane question. Did you find an answer? |
