I live in Pasadena, California, not too far from Jack Chick's home base in Ontario. While walking past a neighbor's house a few weeks back I spotted an SUV parked in front with a vanity plate that read "JCHICK1". A man looking very much like the individual identified as Chick in this photograph was getting into the SUV http://jimmyakin.typepad.com/defensor_fidei/2007/02/the_face_of_chi.html

I know nothing about my neighbor's religious leanings; even assuming it was him his visit may have had nothing to do with religion, but it was a strange moment. His bio says he was born in 1924, so that would make him 87 or 88, which looked about right.

Don't know where I'm going with this other than that it was a very bizarre five seconds and I had to comment on it somewhere.

I think you are very lucky, and have made a rare Chick sighting, TG. Did you band him?

Supposedly, Chick won't come to the door but sends his wife instead when strangers knock. (Chick's reported to have said he's the target of Jesuit assassins.) Now it appears he actually has a vanity license plate with his name on it. Odd. Does his desire for the limelight battle paranoia within his heart?
