Neutrino no longer considered a elementary subatomic particle, scientists decide

Prague, March 19, 2012 (MNN) -- After debating for two days, the International Particlist Union has decided to demote the neutrino from its status as an "elementary subatomic particle" to membership in a newly created class of "preschool subquarkic miniscules."

Two neutrinos, passing at night.

The reclassification comes upon the heels of recent revelations that, despite previous claims, the neutrino hasn't actually traveled faster than light.

"That subliminal travel thing was the final straw for us all," physicist Dr. Rudolf Renar said after the IPU's vote. "We took our time carefully considering the neutrino's status, but from the start it was obvious that nobody was going to defend it. Already, the neutrino was widely resented because of its almost total unwillingness to interact. I've known computer programmers with better social skills. Billions of neutrinos pass right through my body every second, and not one has ever stopped for a moment to say 'hi.' So fuck 'em."

Ain't gonna happen.
