It probably didn't all begin with a minor head injury from a fallen fruit. Newton revolutionized math and physics. Despite their being supplanted by Einstein's relativistic, gravity-distorted formulas, Newton's orbital mechanics formulas are still precise enough that NASA uses them for interplanetary navigation.
Arguably, Newton might have advanced science much further, had he not decided instead to slip deeper into esoteric mysticism and religion. |
