It's more than 80% who believed but weren't, it's 100%. Also 100% who currently believe they are saved aren't. Fantasy cannot turn into reality no matter how much faith one has that it's true. Delusions about any God are no different.

Don't forget we are assuming the existence of God for the sake of argument.

After all, Jesus didn't die from crucifixion, his throat was slashed by a razor-sharp object. Police says the murder weapon belongs to someone named Occam.

Not that I've posted enough here, but I guess I'll move the Hazina letters to another thread. Sheesh!

Well, let us assume for the sake of argument that what Convinced said was true and 20% of people who believe they are Christians are saved. That leaves 80% who probably are not saved. Of course, ss, YMMV.

Doc: I guess that's why Jesus has that beard, he doesn't like razors.

Kil, it was nice of you to hint to her that she might qualify for a modelling job.

I don't see how this can add up. Everyone should see other people as better than themselves. If there's an objective way to order the level of goodness or badness of a person (which is presupposed in order for one's conception of others as better to be meaningful), then it's impossible for these evaluations to be accurate.

I guess if you reframed it by making all transgressions against other humans a subset of transgressions against God (which I guess is done), one could argue that everyone is better to you than you are to God, and therefore God's forgiveness of you implies you should forgive persons who have wronged you in order to be better yourself (defined as being "more godlike").

The equivalence of God and good is silly I think, but I guess if one accepts it, the latter argument holds.
