Correct, Kil. Sarah Outen is a professional adventurer who is attempting a London-to-London bike and kayak solo circumnavigation of the earth. Reading, along the way, a copy of The God Delusion.
After the edge of supertyphoon Mawar brushed Baguio and the Philippines relatively lightly earlier this typhoon season, I felt good about that storm turning north-east and heading "safely" into the mid-Pacific. Little did I know then that Sarah Outen was in its path in her kayak, Gulliver. (In fact, another kayaker, Charlie Martell, 41, a Territorial Army lieutenant, was also in its path, and also had to be rescued.)
Outen has studied biology at St Hugh's College, Oxford.
