It should also be noted that many scientists feel that Robert Gallo's contributions should have been recognized. If it weren't for his work, thousands more would have died from AIDS.

I agree. And it's also said by some that Luc Montagnier's present nonsense in support of Homeopathy has something to do with his bitterness in not being singularly recognized for his HIV work. I'm not sure at all of that, but his comments that aid Homeopathy are a disgrace.
