Seriously, what is wrong with Bachmann, this is so insane. She claims Clinton aide Huma Abedin (and wife of Anthony Weiner) has ties to the Muslim Brotherhood and is in contact with "Muslim Brotherhood operatives." She (and a few other members of Congress) leveled the allegations against multiple people in the administration and sent it all in a letter to several defense-related federal agencies asking them to investigate.

The "ties" to Abedin seem to be that her father (who died ~20 years ago) started a political organization which at one time had a secretary who was previously involved in another political organization which may have had interaction with the Muslim Brotherhood.

Hopefully this will be what finally discredits Bachmann to most everyone, her own former campaign manager wrote an op-ed about her dishonesty here, McCain spoke strongly against it on the Senate floor, Boehner and Rubio condemned it, etc.

Heard mention on one of the MSNBC shows last night that the likes of Boehner, Ryan, and Rubio need Bachmann around because she makes them appear moderate. Also accused her of being an entertainer.
In a statement, Bachmann did not back down, saying she would "not be silent as this administration appeases our enemies" and saying she wants a full investigation into the Muslim Brotherhood.
What we need is a full investigation into her sanity.

This is simply an attempt to resurrect McCarthyism, but with Muslims standing in for liberal and moderate victims, and Muslim Brotherhood infiltration standing in for Communist infiltration. It's obscene.

Minnesota US Senator Joe McCarthy had his shining hour in the spotlight, sometimes referring to a list of communists which he kept in one hand (and which was blank). Eventually his lies caught up with him, when in his arrogance of power he chose try to pressure the US Army to get special privileges for the drafted buddy of his lawyer, Roy Cohen. The Army naturally objected. In 1954, the Army-McCarthy hearings in the US Senate resulted. (I watched this as a kid on TV.) McCarthy was exposed as a fraud at last. Perhaps the telling blow came when Army counsel Joseph Welch told McCarthy:
Senator, may we not drop this? We know he belonged to the Lawyer's Guild...Let us not assassinate this lad further, Senator; you've done enough. Have you no sense of decency, sir? At long last, have you left no sense of decency?
The great broadcast journalist Edward R. Murrow said of McCarthy:
His primary achievement has been in confusing the public mind, as between the internal and the external threats of Communism. We must not confuse dissent with disloyalty. We must remember always that accusation is not proof and that conviction depends upon evidence and due process of law. We will not walk in fear, one of another. We will not be driven by fear into an age of unreason, if we dig deep in our history and our doctrine, and remember that we are not descended from fearful men ... We proclaim ourselves, as indeed we are, the defenders of freedom, wherever it continues to exist in the world, but we cannot defend freedom abroad by deserting it at home. The actions of the junior Senator from Wisconsin have caused alarm and dismay amongst our allies abroad, and given considerable comfort to our enemies. And whose fault is that? Not really his. He didn't create this situation of fear; he merely exploited it—and rather successfully.
We would do well to remember Murrow's words.
McCarthy died in Bethesda Naval Hospital on May 2, 1957, at the age of 48. The official cause of his death was listed as acute hepatitis, an inflammation of the liver. It was hinted in the press that he died of alcoholism, an estimation that is now accepted by contemporary biographers. He was given a state funeral attended by 70 senators, and a Solemn Pontifical Requiem Mass was said before more than 100 priests and 2,000 others at St. Matthew's Cathedral.
Bachmann's fall with come, too, the inevitable result of piling lie upon lies over the years.

Wow, with that kind of "ties" we all might be linked to the Muslim Brotherhood. My sister is a strong supporter of the President, does that make me a liberal?

Therefore be careful how you walk, not as unwise men but as wise, making the most of your time, because the days are evil. So then do not be foolish, but understand what the will of the Lord is. (Eph 5:15-17)

Yeah, these people love to play "Six Degrees of Radical Islam" and insist that the tortured path they ferret out is instead a direct causal linkage.

I kept on expecting her to say "57! I have proof that 57 card carrying Muslim Brotherhood members are in the US government."

For you youngin's, please rent the Manchurian Candidate. The good one made in the 1960's with Frank Sinatra, not the remake.

It's in black and white. Stop yer bitchin.

The quote I am giving is a paraphrase of what the Joe McCarthy type of character was saying.
