Because if you have not been born we would not have this feast With elves, stockfish and the sultry mulled wine and some scrubby spruce, and getting overdoses of Jingle Bells The lyrics continues making observations on the customs of Christmas from a tired, maybe cynical, dispassionate observer who never got any nice or expensive presents when he was a child. The guy who wrote the lyrics has received several prestigious awards in music and poetry (and both), not specifically for this song, but for stuff he's made, just to indicate that this is actually a quality song which some Swedes love to hate because its repetitiveness and samplings of national Christmas treasures.
