My favorite parts of VA are the Dismal Swamp area around the NC line and the mountains up around Fancy Gap. I once found a Timber Rattlesnake (Crotalus h. horridus) hibernacula near the Gap.

It is beautiful, but I would say the most is Alaska. But I'll give it 4th place.

Well, I'm pretty much all moved in. I had to unpack from 300 meters away though, and found that T.V.'s and mircowaves increase in weight as distance does (haha, now theres some bad sciene. I really shouldn't be giving the woo-woo's any new ideas, although they seem to have no trouble with coming up with ones by themselves) Been pretty much just running around campus, finding all the places. Went to play volleyball and got spiked in the eye by a 6'5" weight lifter. I'm just glad it didn't swell up... too much. Its kind of amazing how busy I've been, since I don't have any classes yet (they start on Monday). Kind of scary. The other thing that is scary are the toliet seats, they are a darker shade of yellow than the toilets... haha, oh well. Showers are a bit weird, they heads are only 5'5" high, so I have to duck down to wash my hair (and I'm pretty short, only 5'9").
Can't wait for classes to start, although I probably won't be saying so later. |

Good luck with the classes! I doubt you will have any trouble with school Ricky.

(advice? lol, me offering advice? now THAT's funny...)
Well, from my own experience as a freshman about 15 years ago (an extremely unsucessfull attempt at college I might add), I think the key is to make the school a priority over the potential fun to be had.... and there will be ALOT. Some of those pesky freshman level classes require a good bit of work.

This is exactly why I'm glad I don't have to live on grounds. I'm moving next weekend, and I'll be in a lovely apartment that I just realized is right off of the Constitution Route, and a couple of miles from Jefferson's Monticello.

I know EXACTLY how you feel. You're starting about a week and a half before I do. U.Va. starts September 1. I'm a transfer student myself, so I'll be a junior this year, and what I'm excited about is finally getting to the good stuff in my major.
I'm also going insane with the language classes - German 101 and Latin 101 at the same time.
I've thrown in a little Astronomy for balance. What are your classes? |

Have fun, Ricky, but (as Dude said) not too much fun. That's what I did the first time I went to college. Had to join the military to get back. Bad stuff. Don't do it that way. Anyway, college rocks! Hope you make the best of it.
