I'm not sure what the "gross stuff" would be, but apparently they've figured out a way to eliminate it. Maybe they don't move at all?

It's rather odd how these people who are supposed to be in touch with the Creator, who supposedly have a hotline to the source of all inventiveness usually just take the low road and baptize whatever secular trends happen by.
Whether it's reworking cheerleading or putting post-it notes with Bible verses on the latest secular psychology trends, the Christian community doesn't seem to come up with much that's original.
Even their science is simply a reaction to evolution. They aren't offering a coherent alternative system, just vague restructuring of current theories with the inevitable verses. They simply exist to fight the secular scientists, not to advance a true, comprehensive alternative system....unless the first few chapters of Genesis can be seen as such. |

Although I didn't expect to hear myself say it, I actually liked what I read at some points. For example, paying attention to good sportsmanship is something that I agree with very much.
Only the hip movements. No hip movements mean they will never be able to go salsa dancing, except when they turn into more moderate christians. No salsa dancing! After reading that I felt really very sorry for all conservative christians. |

But this isn't exactly new or a Christian specific goal. If their values are compared to those of the secular organisations the differences would be:
- Hip movements
- Belly buttons
- Choice of music
Or the like. None of these makes anyone more spiritual. |

Why not just ban women at all public events, since men can become sexually excited by females in many situations...but then, some men are attracted to other men, so that's another problem.

Faith-based cheerleading is just a continuation of the trend of Christians glomming onto polular culture - Christian rock and so forth. What they don't seem to *get* is that it's not just the form, but the content that speaks to people. Like, "OOh, the young kids are being seduced away from us by thumping beat, let's seduce them back."
I think this shows a real lack of integrity on the part of the Christians, reject the artist's message, but steal the part of their creative product that is the easiest to imitate. Why can't they come up with an original musical style, dance movement or literary conventions? Could it be --- Satan? |

| Apparently the prosletyzing chrisitans feel so threatened by modern western culture that, instead of showing the world the true form of their religion, they must adapt their religion to fit in the modern culture. Wouldn't one think that if the message is so powerful, life altering, and just plain good, that no transmogrification would be required? And since transmogrification is the preferred method, does that necessarily invalidate the message? |

And in an added twist, USA Today is reporting thatquote:
the state House on Tuesday approved a bill to restrict "overtly sexually suggestive" cheerleading to more ladylike performances.
So from now on, really fit and attractive women in their late teens who wear skimpy skirts and midriff tops and who dance around before crowds made up of largely of, well, teen-age boys at a sports event aren't allowed to insert sexuality into their routine. Makes perfect sense. |
