Am surprised a bit that this story never has been picked up by the national press. The only postings about it that I've seen has been at the Pensacola newspaper site with others linking to the site.

Bet there was an announcement about his sentencing at the Amaz!ing Meeting, followed by cheers, hoots, and hollers.

Here a video apparently about this...someone supports Hovind. I've not watched it myself since I'm still stuck using internet at the library...

As for his sentencing, frag this! He should've been sued for slander and libel by ordinary scientists decades ago.

This is no more a victory for honest science than Al Capone's tax conviction was for the fighters against organized crime! <~~meaning of course that it actually was a small victory, but, you get what I mean.

What brought that on? this. Original posting here.

Another example of this guy's lunacy here.

The court was packed with the Hovinds' supporters and spilled into the lobby for lack of seating. During a break, several gathered in a circle, held hands and prayed.

I guess the answer must have been "No".

True....god had priorities at the time -- was too busy at the time saving little Timmy's kitty cat stuck out on a limb.

The good lord works in mysterious ways?!
(sorry! )

Funny, the parallel between the above delusional babble from Hovind about his tax situation, and his creationism tripe and science.

Edited to add...
A quote from the dearly departed Molly Ivins would also
apply here....."If ignorance ever goes to $40 a barrel, I want drillin' rights on that man's head."

Anyone can tell from these recordings that Kent Hovind is paying no attention to anything except the madness that drives him. I'm suddenly very sympathetic to his wife, Jo, whose objections he repeatedly dismisses as though she should be a submissive, silent help-meet and keep backing his self-destructive behavior.

I predict a divorce. Amazed Jo hasn't filed already.

The recordings are a part of the public record of his trial. They were introduced into evidence in the case and played in court for the jury (or for the judge during the sentencing phase, can't remember).

Not suprising that they are available on the net.

Indeed. If anything comes out of these recordings, it is that prisoner Hovind is not in the least bit interested about the feelings and distress of his wife. So much for love and compassion.

It is easy to maintain the "I love you"-pose to some degree when living together or married. You both go about your business, meet each other in the living room at set times and say the words you've always said to each other. The cover of having children apparantly helps in many relationships. It becomes a lot harder when disaster strikes and you have to rely on each other. If anything should become clear for Jo at this point, it is that prisoner Hovind is not someone to rely upon.

If there's ever a instance of megalomania, Hovind sure fits the bill.
