Nice article, Hawks! Some prediction. Basically, unless the IDers have proof that God's the designer's design philosophy rules out junk DNA, what Dembski is saying is just more hot air, as usual.
And even if they had such proof, that would not prove "Goddidit," simply that some agency did it in a similar manner, perhaps for entirely different reasons, or for no "reason" at all. (Do crystals require a design philosophy?)
Rather unsurprisingly, as usual, no science there.

Been workin' on this new series of sculptures (a flock of birds) all day, starting with these heads. They are still in the beginning stages, but something occurred to me... ode to Darwin's finches?

And I. That long-billed Darwin's Finch almost looks like a Hieronymus Bosch finch, doesn't it?

And I as well. I'd like to see them when they're finished.
Hawaiian honeycreepers, 'mooner, but it amounts to the same thing. These populated Hawaii in much the same way as the finches in the Galapagos.

I liked that pic better than any of the ones of Darwin's finches, and figured you guys're wise enough to get it.
Thanks all. |

But alas, there is no vampire honeycreeper.

Yes, yes, an excellent article, even though I'll admit that some of it was a bit over my head.
Well done, Hawks!

Nice.
Will you always keep 'em together? Will the different heads/bodies be interchangeable, in some sort of DIY interbreeding simulation? |

filthy and Halfmooner, thanks for the kind comments regarding the article I wrote. I was actually hoping for something that was really critical of it, but heck, I'll take anything. |

Fun facts (from Nature, vol 437, 15 Sept 2005):
Best current estimate of the number of viruses in the world's ocean: 3 x 10e9/litre (low of 10e6 to high of 10e8/ml in rich coastal zones) At 1.3 x 10e21 litres of volume in the combined oceans, that is 4 x 10e30 marine viruses
Most are infectious and remain infectious from decades to hundreds of years
There is approximately 200 million tons (8 x 10e8 metric tons) of carbon in marine viruses (and 0.2 x 10e-15g/virus), or about the same as in 75 million blue whales
Average virus is 100nm long. End to end, they would strech 10 million light years long, or the length of 100 Milky Way galaxies
