Thanks John. That is very interesting.

I've played with the idea of some sort martial arts to get in some sort of shape. Unfortunatly I have so many orthopedic problems that real training would be beyond my capabilities. Perhaps they have a less rigorus course?

There's a gym -- I know it's not called a 'gym,' but anyway -- not too far from me and perhaps I might go ask.

This is such a lovely piece of wood. Only a few more coats....

My best score after a days practice: 39.240 seconds.

First game: 2.875 seconds.

Third Game: 19.011 Seconds about 30 seconds later.

5 minutes later (stopped counting games) 20.396 seconds.

I thereby predict, based upon a highly accurate 2nd order polynomial fit to 3 data points, that I could beat your record somewhere during my 16th hour of play. I choose to read SFN posts instead.

Hello. I'm back. I was sick for a while ... a long while. Better now, but I was gone so long I thought I should atleast tell ya why.
I have an illness called Takayasu's and it became active again. Meds have reduced the symptoms somewhat, but then the meds made me sick. Anyway, I am here again. So, Hello, glad to be back

I won't really be as vocal as I was the first week or two I was here, I am still tired and stuff. But it isn't a lack of interest, trust me! I love this site!

Glad to be back,
Tifaney

Welcome back, Antigone! I'm sorry to hear of your illness. It appears to be one that is little understood, and mainly has Prednisone for a treatment, a drug that often has bad side-effects. I hope you remain better!

Holy cow! 30 active threads in the last week in the Politics Folder. If I remember correctly, during election season 2004, we had maybe six.

I bought some reflective plastic tape to put on my electric scooter today. But I can't get the backing loose from the vinyl tape, to expose the sticky part. I can get the backing, which is paper, to separate from itself, but not from the stick-um on the tape. It's driving me nuts. Any ideas?

Try warming the tape side of it slightly with a hair dryer. That will soften some glues. I suspect that your tape sat on the shelf for too long a time.

Welcome back, Antigone! I was wondering if it was something I'd said.....

Hoping for your speedy return to health.

Filthy's idea may help, but so may a good thin knife edge. Very few people have the right fingernails for that sort of job. I can tell you, after going through hundreds of meters of ducting with crappy, hard to remove double sided tape, a blade makes life much easier.

Also, anyone who's had the polymer equivalent of a paper cut, underneath the fingernail will tell you, use a tool!

Thanks for the suggestion, fil. No hair = no hair dryer. But I do have a little heater that might work. Yes, I guess this stuff's just too old.

And thanks to you also, John. I'm trying with both heat and a good knife edge. No good so far in getting started.

I am thinking of ordering some of the 3M brand reflective tape. I've had better luck with their quality in the past. What I'm struggling with is sold as "TrimBrite" brand. On the backing, it seems to indicate it's made by Avery.

Rubbing alcohol removes adhesives from patient's skin after an extra sticky tape or bandaide has been used, perhaps taking rubbing alcohol to one corner of it will get it started., soak a little part of it for about a minute or two and see if that helps. If no rubbing alcohol maybe a strong alcohol like vodka will do. clear alcohol.

And if all else fails, strip it down to the bare plastic and put your own glue on it. Probably what ya should'a done in the first place.....
