"Stop Silvia Browne" and "Stop Kaz" Crusader Takes on Next Subject

Those of us fortunate to have attended the Wednesday chat here at SFN were privileged to "meet" and "talk" with Robert Lancaster, a computer programmer who has devoted much time and effort to exposing phony psychics such as Silvia Browne and Kaz.

Robert Lancaster, at the Wednesday evening chat.

The affable Mr. Lancaster (known simply as "Robert" to those of us who are his friends) has been able to, if not "stop," to at least place some serious obstacles in the path of the repulsive scam artist, Silvia Browne. And Robert's pretty much stopped Kaz dead in her tracts, as she's fallen out of public view after having her pathological lies thoroughly trashed by Mr. Lancaster.

I can now report that Robert has at last announced his new target. This time it's not an individual. Instead, Robert's boldly taking on an entire class of scammers.

From tonight's chat log:
quote:

. . .
Ricky: So, what's your next project, Robert?
RSLancaster:Well, I wasn't going to announce this until it was a fiat accompli, but since you people are so nice and know how to keep secrets, I'll tell you.
Kil: You should hear what we say about you when you're not here.
Dave W.: You should hear what we say about Kil when HE'S not here.
HalfMooner: Please do tell us, Robert!
RSLancaster: Okay, here it is: Sidekicks. The new site will be StopSidekicks.com.
Kil: Sidekicks?
RSLancaster: Yes, all those silly, inept secondary characters in literature, the movies, and TV, from Don Quixote's Sancho Panza, to Sherlock Holmes' Dr. Watson. From Batman's Robin the Boy Wonder to Dirty Harry's long line of deceased partners. From the Lone Ranger's Tonto to Schroedinger's Cat. From Roy Roger's Gabby Hayes to Krypto the Superdog's Streaky the Supercat. It's time to put these characters to rest for good and all. Apparently, nobody else in the skeptic community has the gonads to go after this pernicious phenomenon. So it's up to me to get the ball rolling, with "Stop Sidekicks."

. . .
Stunned, I believe, by Robert's audacity, the chat participants quickly changed the topic to Monty Python.

Sancho Panza provides useless "help" to Don Quixote.

Gabby Hayes hangs out with "young whippersnapper" Roy Rogers.

Dr. Watson, thinking of yet another dumb theory to relate to Holmes.

LMAO...

You know, thought I missed the chat this wednesday, knowing from experience, that chat-log is entirely plausible. Except for Mr. Lancaster's "contribution", whom I don't know enough to judge.

Excellent Moonscape news!

Thanks, Mab! Unlike in my spoof, Lancaster (or, as I call him, "Robert") writes in simple, strong sentences that are easy to follow and pack a surprising amount of information in a few words. He has indeed stopped Kaz dead in her tracks, at least for now. It was a pleasure to chat with him, and he responded to even my own silly-ass questions.

I asked him how he'd like to be spoofed in Moonscape. He replied, "Gently." Fat chance.
