Humbert, he is making an analysis of mmgw as a religion based on his background as an anthropologist.
Through his study of man, he has seen mmgw become a religion; much like I stated in an earlier post. That assertion was discounted at the time. Now that a scientist has made the assertion, one much take it as fact.

What a man believes upon grossly insufficient evidence is an index into his desires -- desires of which he himself is often unconscious. If a man is offered a fact which goes against his instincts, he will scrutinize it closely, and unless the evidence is overwhelming, he will refuse to believe it. If, on the other hand, he is offered something which affords a reason for acting in accordance to his instincts, he will accept it even on the slightest evidence. The origin of myths is explained in this way. - Bertrand Russell |

Note to all smurfs; opinions of scientists in the field of human culture do mean jack shit. It shows that mmgw is a religion.

Jerome: His opinion does matter in the context of the religion of global warming. |
One question. Can you be a follower of Darwin and the religion of evolution, and also put your faith in another religion? We seem to be accused of following one religion or another a lot. Now, it's the religion of global warming.
Hard to know what religion you are around here without a scorecard…

I have never accused followers of Darwin of being part of a religion.
I did accuse mmgw followers of being in a religion. And now come to find out science backs me up.

One must take it as a fact? So you agree that man is contributing to global warming? ‘Cause lots of scientists make that assertion…
I guess this debate is over now.
Cool!!!!

Sure, when a world wide scientific consensus is claimed based on government conclusions.

I have yet to find a anthropologist claim that mmgw was not a religion.

Conservatives around the world use this nonsense "its a religion" theme when they can't actually speak against the topic at hand without looking like a complete jerome-style moron.
Evolution- Its a religion!
MMGW- Its a religion!
Whatever.
Crichton is a moron, and anyone who mindlessly repeats his babble is also.
