This is an incredible 8 minute animal encounter. I don't want to give away the ending but it has several twists and turns you have to see to believe!

Well, that tour group sure got its money's worth!

Historical revisionists among the lions will no doubt deny it happened that way.

Never give up.

Diversity, independence, innovation and imagination are progressive concepts ultimately alien to the conservative mind.

I was cheering for the crocodile, even though it was an overly-optomistic, little fucker (I usually loath optomists but I make an exception in this case).

Remarkable camera work indeed, for an amature. Not to mention: very lucky. The pros can work for weeks and even months, and not get nearly as dramatic footage.

It is noteworthy that those who know about such things say that the Cape Buffalo is the most dangerous of Africa's big game.

It was interesting that in the background discussion one of the observers said to watch the buffalo come back. I don't recall seeing that behavior as a frequent occurrence in the gazillion nature shows of the predators chasing their prey.

As one who likes to write, I must remark:

I think that, plot-wise, throwing in the crocodile attack in the middle was a bit much. Maybe they felt the action was lagging a bit at that point. The croc, who has no backstory, is never seen again, so it is clearly just a cheap two-dimensional plot device. But at least the later development of the main storyline distracts the viewer from that weak subplot.

I was looking for something else at the end.

I wanted the crocodile to come up out of the water and get the calf after the lions were chased away. That would have tied it all together!

I wanted to see the croc and the buffaloes team up and eat the lions. The actual plot was more amazing, though.

Actually, I found the crocodile to be the only creditable performer in the whole production. A pity he wasn't given a larger part, with maybe a little dialoge.

He should probably fire his agent and sign up with one who could get him a role in the annual wildebeast migration, or a long-term gig with National Geographic. Even the greatest of young talent needs behind the scenes help on it's way to stardom.

But in this video, the lions looked like the Martial Arts master who got his ass kicked.
