Looks like it to me as well. Eh, he can afford another one.

This something of a first. Just think, the first American president to be ripped off by some common street thug -- you don't see that every day. I don't blame him for denying it; it's a sad comment on himself for losing the watch and his security detail for letting him.

Just can't take the fool anywhere, can we?

Sorry, but it wasn't.

Why continue? Because we must. Because we have the call. Because it is nobler to fight for rationality without winning than to give up in the face of continued defeats. Because whatever true progress humanity makes is through the rationality of the occasional individual and because any one individual we may win for the cause may do more for humanity than a hundred thousand who hug their superstitions to their breast.

Perhaps this is a good lesson in confirmation bias, and how quick we are to disbelieve anything this (albeit despicable) president says.

Take a look at this site for example:

Just like the administration to deny something as simple as this!

If you look at the video carefully, you can see the guy grab Bush's wrist and remove the watch and take it away, from :55 to :58

It was definitely stolen.

Steven Colbert has it. He had it on his wrist on his show last night. Though Colbert talked about the incident he said nothing about the watch on his wrist and just winked while showing it. It was obviously the same watch.

And I watched that stupid video I'll bet 10 times. Oh well, it was fun while it lasted...

The interesting part now is to see how long the story hangs around and how soon Snopes picks it up.

What is interesting to me is how many people were grasping specifically at Bush's left wrist, both before and after he put his watch away. It's really odd, that, and I wonder if it's an Albanian cultural thing.

In the video that I saw they were grabbing everything, from his head, to his arm, to his wrist. It just so happened that his wrist was the closest thing to them, and thus, within reach of the most people.

Bush must have loved it. The one place he could go where people actually like him...

Uncertainty may make you uncomfortable. Certainty makes you ridiculous.

Why not question something for a change?

And even there, they like him for what Clinton did, not for what he did.

This is why I decided to become a conspiracy theorists, throwing away the shackles of a dull reality.
To you this looks like as Bush was telling the truth. To me, the second video is an obvious fake, produced by the Illuminati to cover up the theft of their remote control receiver.

Speaking of confirmation bias, hope you have all seen Michael Shermer´s "Why people believe strange things" speach with a kick ass reverse Led Zeppelin analysis:
