Revolutionary New Theology quietly advancing

Wilmington, VT, August 2, 2007 (ZP) -- A priest, a rabbi, and a minister walk into a Vermont bar. Six hours later, after a long and heated theological discussion, three confirmed Zerotheists walk out the door.

"Western theologians," said one of the three, ex-rabbi David Kornblum, "have long known that Monotheism is superior to Polytheism. All we did was discover that subtracting one last deity made religion a lot stronger and more logical."

The Zerotheist theology, discovered last year during an impromptu ecumenical gathering in the Sit N Sip Lounge of Wilmington, Vermont is rapidly gaining converts from diverse sects.

According to another of the original Zerotheist triumvirate, former Jesuit Father John Houston, "It just makes sense. The early Christian Church found it was easier for it to explain a single Deity to converts, as compared to the complex problem faced by Polytheists in trying to get people not to mix up, say, aspects of Neptune with those of Janus. Zerotheism simplifies things even more."

The final member of the trio, former Baptist Rev. Gerry Mallsworth, agrees. "Zerotheism makes my work so much simpler. Now I can actually get a real job. And my neighbors now seem to be more comfortable in talking with me. Before, they seemed afraid to approach me for casual conversation, as if concerned that I would somehow slip God into the conversation. They were right, of course."

Oh, Marf! Within the Abrahamic tradition, it is revolutionary!

Maybe it's because of my age, but the whole idea that Western culture and Eastern culture are still separate entities today just strikes me as so passé.

Give 'em a few thousand more years, and you won't know the difference.

Thanks for the kindly words.

Yes, I'm a fan of ChurchSigns. We've had longish threads here, mostly made up of signs we've made. (I like yours, BTW!) But that particular one I found ready-made on the Web, while doing a search for images, with the logo already removed.
