It's summer, in the right-side-up half of the planet, so it's a good time to summarize what people all over the world are doing at the beaches.

This will be mainly a photographic essay.

Sorry about the southern hemisphere's winter, Sib!

Did you notice? Japanese women are now wearing swimsuits apparently designed by Borat.

Japanese woman.

I noticed, and after hours of careful scrutiny, I've concluded that the first, second, third, fourth, sixth, seventh, ninth, tenth, eleventh, twelfth, thirteenth and fourteenth photos include no discernable penises or boobs.

It's the slow-news summer Silly Season, when even Moonscape News has to lower its standards and pander to the baser instincts of its readers.

That's an interesting first pic, looks like an oarfish, Regalecidae.

The Canadian one is probably Wreck Beach near Vancouver, it's been unofficially clothing optional for decades. Can't say for sure though, never been west of Alberta.

LOOOOOOOVE those Japanese swimsuits!

The British one looks like a typical day at Southend or Blackpool!

Dead on about the Canadian beach, Rat! That was where the source said it was taken, Wreck Beach, near Vancouver.

OK, if were guessing the location of the photos, my guess is that the New Zealand one is from Orewa just north of Auckland. The average beach in NZ is actually LESS crowded than this one.

I seem to recall that's where it was. I honestly could not find a crowded NZ beach. Nice.
