The Traditional Mex-USA Church has decided to dispense with the skull head, scythe, and bone hands of its death-personified "saint," Santa Muerte, and adopt a somewhat less, well, spooky image.

The Original Deathsta, Old Style.

Saint Death warmed over.

And they say religion never changes with the times.

Religions change all of the times. Christianity especially, is as nimble as a flea, as any reading of it's history will demonstrate; and as any reading of that history will further demonstrate, virtually all of those changes have nothing to do with theology. They are all made to recruit convert the righteous heathen (righteous heathen = any group large enough, and hopefully wealthy enough, to enhance the membership and extend the church's authority). This spasm is a minor example -- pretty girls'll always draw a better, if perhaps slightly less devout, crowd than some pile of bones that, if they were genuine bones, would be better suited as a museum exhibit or ground up for fertilizer.

They'll run it a while to see if it works, then either keep the hot chick or return to the corpse.
