... with longer teeth."
When British camper John Wilson woke up screaming with a large slug bloodily chewing his head, he must immediately have known that the 27,000-toothed mollusk was not a product of English dentistry. A HORRIFIED camper woke up dripping in blood as a vicious SLUG chewed his head.
John Wilson thought a wasp had stung him and shrieked when he pulled the brown slimer off his brow.
It had left puncture wounds as it gnawed his skin with 27,000 tiny teeth.
John, 38, said yesterday: It was like something from a horror story. Never in my worst nightmares did I dream I would find my forehead being eaten by a slug. |

Hilarious, I bet you were mad when you saw the picture in the article was copyrighted; I was. |
What a man believes upon grossly insufficient evidence is an index into his desires -- desires of which he himself is often unconscious. If a man is offered a fact which goes against his instincts, he will scrutinize it closely, and unless the evidence is overwhelming, he will refuse to believe it. If, on the other hand, he is offered something which affords a reason for acting in accordance to his instincts, he will accept it even on the slightest evidence. The origin of myths is explained in this way. - Bertrand Russell |

I have some problems with this.
Slugs and snails do not have teeth per se. Rather they have radula on their tongues and scrape their food, rather than bite it. It's a slow way to ingest a meal.
Carnivorus marine snails and nudibranchs are the exceptions.
It is concievable that this animal was scraping on the guy's head -- they are known to eat small quanities of meat -- but any damage would would have been negligable and unless the guy was dead drunk, or a real bonehead, he'd have awoken well before much blood began to flow.
And the Sun is, after all, a tabloid.

| If I've read the article a'right, and I have, that's not the same guy. The picture is posed in order to make the squeamish amongst us go: "Eewwww!" Whether at the guy or the slug might be open to question, of course. Our fun picture shows how it might have looked on John's head. Britain is facing a slimewave of 15BILLION slugs as numbers have doubled in the wet summer. |

Awww! That's your finger, Fil? And everyone asks me why I don't keep herps.
That looks like God's hand after he accidentally forgot to ground himself before projecting a Smite blast.
