Good for the Belgians! About time we did the same. A claim of being "religious" should never shelter a gang's criminal activity.

Religions by their very nature are blood-sucking parasites but Scientology is a lampray amongst the leeches. I'm delighted to see Belgians smarting up and emulating the Germans, who have had the Hubbard Crime Family's number for decades.

Now if we can just throttle the bastards here in the US.....

Woah:

"For the last 10 years, the prosecutor has been using the media, trying to damage the reputation of the Church of Scientology and not being able to put a case in court," Scientology said.

Someone is apparently so devoted that they named their kid "Scientology".

It's good to see governments take action against Scientology. I wonder why the US has done nothing but give them tax exempt status. Perhaps there are some closet Scientologists in power. Certainly no government official is afraid of losing votes for going after them.

Why continue? Because we must. Because we have the call. Because it is nobler to fight for rationality without winning than to give up in the face of continued defeats. Because whatever true progress humanity makes is through the rationality of the occasional individual and because any one individual we may win for the cause may do more for humanity than a hundred thousand who hug their superstitions to their breast.

Scientology will have their revenge - never again will Tom Cruise make a film in Belgium.

This is worth watching...

Not that we don't know about their Scientologist tactics already.

Yeah! That's her name. I've only seen maybe two episodes of "Xena" and thought that Gabrielle was hot.

Yeh, she's hot alright but Xena has already staked that claim, as anyone who has seen the bath scene in one of the shows realizes.

Screw that we saw a Xena boobie at the Red Wings Playoff game, during her national anthem performance:)

Brilliant:
A Belgian prosecutor on Tuesday recommended that the U.S.-based Church of Scientology stand trial...

...snip...

["Scientology"] added that the prosecutor's recommendations suggested Scientology was guilty even before a court could hear the charges, making it "difficult for the Church of Scientology to recover and properly defend (itself) before the court."

Are they suggesting that if a prosecutor recommends that a party should stand trial, they shouldn't stand trial because the recommendation would make it difficult for them to defend themselves? This would mean that nobody should stand trial unless the prosecutor had recommended that they should not stand trial.

As Yossarian said, "that's some catch, that catch-22."
