So, the beer drinkers are apparently trying for the Darwin Awards.

Heh, indeed! Priorities are priorities, after all. In the aftermath of the excitement, one might be a little dry as well as a bit shaky, and require beer to calm the nerves and wet the whistle. It shows foresight and intelligent preparedness for any and all eventualities. Well done!

The jump made by that animal is remarkable. The drinkers are doubtless saving their beers as a final defense, to dash into the face of the bull.
It strikes me that anyone who gets a charge out of a blood sport deserves whatever the animal victims can occasionally dish out. Michael Vick, IMO, would be improved by becoming a chew toy for pit bull dogs.

| I agree, but we should also remember that the children taken to these events might turn out to be the innocent victims.
I hope that little girl in the pink coat comes away from this bull fight resolving to see them ended in her lifetime.

Indeed, H.H. I hadn't considered that. What an awful thing to bring a kid to see!

I would not have dropped my beer either.

What a man believes upon grossly insufficient evidence is an index into his desires -- desires of which he himself is often unconscious. If a man is offered a fact which goes against his instincts, he will scrutinize it closely, and unless the evidence is overwhelming, he will refuse to believe it. If, on the other hand, he is offered something which affords a reason for acting in accordance to his instincts, he will accept it even on the slightest evidence. The origin of myths is explained in this way. - Bertrand Russell |
